#21 in the series, George Rodrigue’s portrait of Satchmo captures the spirit of New Orleans in a way only he could. Known for his dreamy, folklore-rich depictions of Cajun culture, Rodrigue’s career took a turn toward the iconic when he introduced his now-famous Blue Dog. By 1995, his distinctive style was already beloved, but this vivid tribute to the greatest horn player the city ever produced took things to another level. The poster sold out before the second weekend of the festival even kicked off.
